How are teams created?
Our number one priority in flag football is to make the sport fun and fair for every player. The best way to achieve this is by creating teams that are as balanced as possible. While we can’t guarantee that every team will finish with the same record, we can absolutely work to ensure that each team has a fair and competitive roster.
To help create this balance, each coach participates in a team draft. As a parent, you are always welcome to make a request—there is nothing wrong with asking. During the draft process, we will share those requests with the coaches. However, we will not require a coach to draft a specific player, nor will we prevent a coach from selecting someone.
Once the draft is complete, the teams are finalized. Team assignments will not be changed after the draft, as maintaining balanced teams is essential to providing a fair and enjoyable experience for all players.
